Jammie Pegram, Memory Care Director
Real-life past experience of caring for her mother, combined with no longer having living parents, drives Jammie to provide great care and compassion to seniors “as if they are my own loved ones,” she says.
Her role as Memory Care Director calls for leadership, guidance, and hands-on work. “It takes a certain skill set to provide care for seniors. You must meet them in their world and provide joy to them as they continue to live out their lives in your care,” says Jammie. “I never feel like I am at a job; I feel like it’s an obligatory natural love where I simply enjoy what I do.”
For Jammie, creativity is essential. “Each day is different. What works one day may not work the next. Being able to adapt in all circumstances helps develop a creative nature, teaching me to think outside the box and stop at nothing to access and obtain the best possible outcome.”
When she’s not at work, Jammie loves reading and is a member of two book clubs. She’s also a big fan of watching football, basketball, and soccer. She also enjoys taking pictures. “Photography is my personal therapy,” says Jammie. Mostly, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters, Bear and Brianna.
Perfect vacation? “I always seem to find my peace and inner joys from dark, foggy, rainy weather,” says Jammie. “Seattle would meet my needs in terms of farmers markets, rainy seasons, and warm beverages to tour the city and take pictures.”
